ECSSD will provide three services supported by smaller initiatives modeling what previous generations learned along the way. We will advocate for those who are unaware, or need assistance, with local/state/federal legislation. We provide community engagement by participating in local festivities, volunteer towards enhancing San Diego, and host mixers/workshops so our ears stay on the ground consistently being engaged and in tune with those we serve. We will educate members through classes geared towards financial literacy, language, and the essence of our culture. Our culture is rooted in a communal lifestyle so when we see one in need, we roll up our sleeves and help. That is who we are and what we will continue to be in San Diego.
At ECSSD, we are passionate about bringing Eritrea to our community. Through our advocacy services, we aim to preserve and celebrate Eritrean cultural identity while promoting integration into American society. Through education and awareness, ECSSD hosts seminars, collaborate with policy officials, and assist the community with accessible opportunities.
Community is the blueprint to who we are; the bloodline by which we live. In saying that, being communal is the core in how we operate. Whether practiced in events, volunteering, or education, connecting with those we serve, through community engagement, is the essence of our existence.
Education serves as the foundation for personal growth, societal progress, and the overall well-being of individuals. Aware of its power, ECSSD hosts a range of educational programs such as: Preserving Cultural Identity and Heritage, Financial Literacy, Digital Literacy, Health, Career Planning and Skills Development, and Music, Art, and cooking classes.
